After presenting Gustave Fayet in ProvenceSaint-André Abbey returns from March 1st to August 2nd, 2026 with a new exhibition: Gustave Fayet and his imaginary gardensA second part that invites us to discover another facet of the artist and to delve into an even more intimate and surprising universe.

The exhibition Gustave Fayet and his imaginary gardens This exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the artist's work by highlighting the essential role nature plays in his creative process. A painter, collector, and decorator, Fayet began imagining his own unique floral universe in the 1910s, inspired as much by Odilon Redon as by the illustrated scientific works of his time. Whether real or entirely invented, he transformed flowers into poetic and fantastical motifs, which he explored across a multitude of media: canvases, pastels, watercolors, as well as rugs, fabrics, and illustrated books.

At the same time, Gustave Fayet transformed the gardens of his houses – at Fontfroide, Igny, and Costebrune – into veritable extensions of his artistic work, where Mediterranean nature and imagination intertwine. The exhibition thus unveils a multifaceted and surprising body of work, where dreamlike gardens, intimate landscapes, and reimagined floral motifs converge.

Don't miss this exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Gustave Fayet and discover Provence through the eyes of a master of art. Come experience an unforgettable cultural adventure and be inspired by the magic of his creations!
