Founded in 1856, the Avignon Equestrian Society is one of the oldest in France and bears witness to a historical expertise intimately linked to local identity.

Located on the Roberty estate since 1868, the racecourse has continuously hosted horse races and popular events. Its grandstand, dating from 1905 and now listed on the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments, recalls the importance of this site in the sporting and cultural history of the Grand Avignon.
