The wines of Château de Bouchassy are born from the passion of the Degoul family who have been cultivating and vinifying a 26 ha vineyard using organic farming methods for 4 generations.

In 1628, the Estate was the property of Mr. Bouschassy, “First Consul of the town of Roquemaure”.
The old bourgeois residence still bears the name today. In the 18th century, by a "Royal decree", the Consuls and Magistrates of Roquemaure identified the barrels by striking the letters CDR ("Coste du Rhône") with a hot iron. They issued "Certificates of Origin" to producers, thus giving rise to the current appellation. The wines of Château de Bouchassy were born from the passion of the Degoul family, their desire to innovate and create unique tastes based on fundamental values: tradition, authenticity and quality.
From generation to generation, the Degoul family has cultivated the knowledge of the land. Rigorous expertise and a quality terroir make Château de Bouchassy one of the pillars of the Lirac appellation. It was in 1973 that great-grandfather Lucien Degoul and his son Robert acquired the 26-hectare estate of vines.
The grandson, Gérard DEGOUL, a trained oenologist, considered marketing the Château's wine in bottles. A guaranteed success, as in 1978 he won the Gold Medal for his first vintage at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris. Through his commitment and passion, he was one of the pioneers of the LIRAC appellation, fervently promoting this three-colored vintage.
Today, his children Nicolas and Marie-Cécile have taken over the reins of the Domaine, lovingly perpetuating the family tradition.
After several decades of working in sustainable agriculture and because respecting our environment is a major concern within our estate, we began our journey towards organic farming in 2021 through Ecocert certification.
We no longer use any chemical herbicides. We work the soil with mechanized tools for natural weed control. We promote the exclusive use of organic fertilizers. Tasting and sales cellar open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. Weekends by telephone reservation. Click & collect is possible (reservation by email or telephone).
