Until the 18th century, the church bells marked the rhythm of village life according to the dictates of the liturgical calendar, fulfilling an essentially spiritual function.
The project for this construction was completed in 1756. The work lasted about a year. Previously, the daily rhythm was established by the sound of the church bell announcing the three times of the Angelus: morning, noon, and evening. To set the clock, a narrow staircase leads to the first floor. A maintenance man is appointed to wind, adjust, and oil the mechanism. This belfry has a magnificent wrought iron campanile, typical of southern architecture. It has been listed as a historical monument since 1934.
