Livrée Ceccano – Bibliothèque municipale

A 14th-century cardinal's palace, then a Jesuit college, it now houses the municipal library.

Located in the heart of Avignon's city center, the Ceccano Library occupies an impressive 14th-century fortified residence. Boasting over 60.000 freely accessible documents and a surface area of over 4500 m2, it is the largest library in the municipal library network.

In addition to its collections for all audiences (books, magazines, CDs, read texts but also music, video games, cinema, books, online courses), it has a Heritage area providing large collections of old books. Digital services (computers connected to the Internet, Wi-Fi portal, printing points), numerous seats for studying or reading on site, an exhibition and conference room and a lounge for children complete the documentary offering.

All year round, enjoy updated collections and a cultural programme rich in conferences, concerts, readings, shows and workshops of all kinds, for young and old alike. As you browse a shelf, you can even discover some of the old, rare or precious books it preserves...
