Livrée Ceccano – Bibliothèque municipale

A 14th century cardinal's palace, then a Jesuit college, it now houses the municipal media library.
Between 1329 and 1350, the Ceccano Livery, now the municipal library, occupied a prominent place in Avignon's heritage. Built in the 14th century as the palace of Cardinal Ceccano, it housed the Jesuit college from the 16th century.
It was not until 1960, after various occupations, that it was restored. One can admire the splendid painted ceilings as well as the diversity of its ancient collections.
This building is located on the route of guided tours of the city provided by Avignon Tourisme tour guides.
