The Espace du Lavoir is a cultural event venue located in the heart of the town of Vedène.
All year round, the venue hosts exhibitions, organizes events, conferences as well as recitals, literary evenings, etc.

The first mention of a project to build a public wash house in Vedène dates back to 1782. However, proof of the existence of an uncovered wash house only begins in 1832. In 1866, the construction of the covered wash house was approved by the prefect. A project from 1865 specifies that the old basin will not be reused as is but straightened to align it with the Entraigues road. This last project corresponds to the wash house that was finally built between 1866 and 1868, the date of its completion. From 1890, the wash house included a hydraulic mechanism that supplied the water reservoir located on the heights of the village. Rehabilitated in 1989, it has now become a place housing an exhibition hall as well as the tourist information office of the Grand Avignon.
