à Caumont-sur-Durance

Eglise paroissiale Saint Symphorien

This church is the 4th church, it was built between 1777 and 1788 to replace the chapel of the White Penitents which had become too small.
Impressive and sober at the same time, it is one of the largest churches in Vaucluse.

Its nave measures 41,3m long, 11,3m wide and 19,5m high at the keystone.
Inside, there are many ancient statues and paintings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, including a very beautiful “Annunciation” by Nicolas Mignard.
