The Augustinian bell tower, rue Carreterie, is one of the only remains of the former Augustinian convent, the construction of which was completed under John XXII.
The bell tower was built between 1372 and 1377. It was then outside the first medieval enclosure.
The clock itself has existed since 1497.
A small peculiarity of the bell tower: its inclination. This is believed to date back to the 1909 earthquake, as its foundations rest on wooden piles. Since then, a concrete slab has reinforced them.
