Basilique Saint-Pierre

Collegiate church built between the 14th and the beginning of the 16th century, its façade characteristic of Provençal flamboyant Gothic and its richly carved solid walnut doors are essential in the discovery of old Avignon.

The existence of a Saint-Pierre church from the 7th century, the foundation of a collegiate church in 1358: construction of the canons' buildings and a cloister, the chevet and the bell tower. Side chapels and the enlargement of the nave were carried out in the 15th century.
Remarkable wooden doors carved with late Renaissance motifs. Various sculpted works are preserved inside, as well as paintings by Simon de Châlons, Parrocel, and Nicolas Mignard. Relics of Blessed Peter of Luxembourg.
