The Abbey of Saint Andrew was built by the Benedictines in the 10th century near the tomb of Saint Casaria (6th century).
Its influence was considerable in the region where it owned more than 200 priories from Uzès to Forcalquier.
The buildings rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries according to the plans of Pierre Mignard were partly demolished after the Revolution.
Between the terraces, the ponds and the remains of the Romanesque churches are spread Tuscan flowerbeds, ancient olive trees and other Mediterranean plants. And, at the bend in the botanical path lined with cypress trees, one of the most beautiful views of Mont Ventoux, the Luberon, the Alpilles and the Palais des Papes.
