Le gravelMountain biking, a cycling discipline situated halfway between road cycling and mountain biking, is attracting more and more enthusiasts. It is practiced mainly on... unpaved roads – tracks, gravel roads, farm or forest tracks – all while retaining the spirit of road cycling: a taste for effort, endurance, distance, and touring. Gravel riding is experiencing a strong growth in Francedriven by a growing interest in outdoor activities, exploring new territories and the pleasure of driving away from major roads. 

In this context, theGrand Avignon Tourist Office enriches its cycling offering with six new gravel loopsdesigned to meet all levels of practice, from beginners to the most experienced cyclists. 

Six gravel routes through the heart of the landscapes of Grand Avignon 

Of a length between 20 and 96 kilometersthese gravel loops (not marked on the ground) allow you to travel across the territory on the two banks of the Rhône, passing through iconic landscapes: scrubland, canals, vineyards, hilltop villages, natural massifs and major heritage sites.

A new structured and responsible gravel offering

With these six loops, the Grand Avignon affirms its desire to develop a a coherent, sustainable and accessible cycling offerpromoting a respectful exploration of the areas. The routes are integrated into a living environment: it is essential to stay on the marked trails, to respect the Highway Code and the seasonal regulations for access to forest areas.
