Day 1 > Caumont-sur-Durance – Eygalières: 37km / +270m elevation gain

In the early morning, we invite you to discover the charming village of Caumont-sur-Durance. It's an opportunity to stroll through its Roman garden or follow its historical route. For gourmets, a visit to Laurmar Nougats is a must for a little sweet boost. For a meal, we recommend the restaurant Caum'on. It's a wine cellar and bar with the possibility of sharing a platter and even having lunch there at midday (homemade cuisine with real local products!). The setting is great with the terrace and the stream below.

At the beginning of the afternoon, we escape from Caumont-sur-Durance by a nice little path which winds between two canals, perfect for getting back into shape. Then we join the D900 (be careful, this is serious, there's a lot of traffic!). Adventurer's advice: keep your eyes open and don't hesitate to ride on the pavement, especially when crossing the Durance via the Pont de Bonpas.

Once this section is behind you, it's back to calm. The road becomes gentler and you can relax by pedaling until Saint-Rémy-de-ProvenceThe icing on the cake: just before arriving, a point of incredible view of the Alpilles massif rewards you for your efforts!

Bullfighting culture in Bouches-du-Rhône

Imagine yourself, in the middle of this Provençal landscape, between cicadas and olive groves, the arenas coming to life for the course camarguaiseNo killing here, we'll leave that to the clichés!

It's a real face-off between man and bull, where agility and courage are the stars of the show. The bullfighters flirt with the horns, while the audience cheers with "Oh!" and "Ah!" And you're there, between two bites of fougasse and a pastis, enjoying this unique atmosphere where tradition takes on the air of a festival.

In short, in the Alpilles, the bulls are rock stars, and a change of scenery is guaranteed.

In the heart of the Alpilles

Day 2 > Eygalières – Villeneuve lez Avignon : 71km / +710m elevation gain.

Before leaving, make sure you stock up on water and food: you won't find anything on the Route des Crêtes to Les Baux de Provence.

We start the day with a real roller coaster ride ! It goes up and down, with a few sandy sections to spice things up. If you've planned a picnic, this is the perfect spot for a break. Otherwise, stop at the Leases-de-Provence, it's worth the detour. After these bumps galore, you can enjoy a super cool descent towards Saint-Étienne-du-Grès.

🚨 Fire risks and biodiversity preservation

The Montagnette massif was ravaged by flames in 2023 and it is important to give biodiversity time to regenerate!

Head north towards Montagnette and theFrigolet Abbey for one last gem to discover! From the abbey, you have two options: either you descend towards Boulbon and the Aramon bridge, then you enjoy a peaceful return along the Via Rhona up to Villeneuve lez Avignon to spend the night there.

Either you choose the descent towards Barbentane and the Rognonas bridge, perfect if you want to go straight to the TGV station to go home. The adventure is yours to choose!

We highly recommend you spend the night at Villeneuve lez Avignon part of which is classified as a “Remarkable Heritage Site”.
