You are on vacation in the Grand Avignon Perfect! You're close to the famous ViaRhôna cycle route, which connects Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. We're offering a day of cycling from Avignon to Beaucaire, returning by regional train.
The ViaRhôna in Provence
Since Grand Avignon, travel the cycle route to discover towns and villages with a very Provençal character: Villeneuve lez Avignon, Avignon, Aramon, Beaucaire, Tarascon, Arles…
This bike ride accessible to families stretches over 40 km (approximately 2 hours of walking). You leave from Avignon to reach Beaucaire.

Villeneuve lez Avignon

After visiting the papal city, its palace, its legendary bridge, its unique steep streets, we head off to take the Edouard Daladier Bridge towards Villeneuve lez Avignon.
A small town whose history is closely linked to Avignon, Villeneuve is home to heritage gems, charming cafés, and relaxing gardens. Take the time to climb to the forecourt of Fort Saint-André, where one of the most beautiful views of Avignon awaits you. Be warned, you'll be amazed.

If you're out and about on a Thursday, make sure you stop at the Provençal market on Place Charles David to fill your picnic bags!

We then retrace our steps to pick up the ViaRhôna under the Pont du Royaume, towards Aramon.

Once a prosperous port town, Aramon has preserved the magnificent facades and doors of its private mansions. If you have time, the bucolic gardens of Aramon Castle are worth a visit.
We get back on our bikes and head towards Montfrin, along small, easily signposted roads, to reach the Pont du Gard greenway to the west of the village. This takes us to the entrance to Beaucaire.
Beaucaire
Located between Nîmes, Arles, and Avignon, Beaucaire is marked by diverse cultural influences. Provence, Camargue, ancient city, many sites are worth visiting: the troglodyte and rock-hewn Abbey of Saint-Roman, the medieval fortress, the Vieux Mas (a timeless educational farm, ideal for children) or the Mas des Tourelles, Roman cave and archaeological site.
Build your route according to the desired roaming duration.
