After visiting the papal city, its palace, its legendary bridge, its unique steep streets, we head off to take the Edouard Daladier Bridge towards Villeneuve lez Avignon.

A small town whose history is closely linked to Avignon, Villeneuve is home to heritage gems, charming cafés, and relaxing gardens. Take the time to climb to the forecourt of Fort Saint-André, where one of the most beautiful views of Avignon awaits you. Be warned, you'll be amazed.

If you're out and about on a Thursday, make sure you stop at the Provençal market on Place Charles David to fill your picnic bags!

We then retrace our steps to pick up the ViaRhôna under the Pont du Royaume, towards Aramon.

aramon

Once a prosperous port town, Aramon has preserved the magnificent facades and doors of its private mansions. If you have time, the bucolic gardens of Aramon Castle are worth a visit.

We get back on our bikes and head towards Montfrin, along small, easily signposted roads, to reach the Pont du Gard greenway to the west of the village. This takes us to the entrance to Beaucaire.

Beaucaire

Located between Nîmes, Arles, and Avignon, Beaucaire is marked by diverse cultural influences. Provence, Camargue, ancient city, many sites are worth visiting: the troglodyte and rock-hewn Abbey of Saint-Roman, the medieval fortress, the Vieux Mas (a timeless educational farm, ideal for children) or the Mas des Tourelles, Roman cave and archaeological site.

Build your route according to the desired roaming duration.

Our practical advice:

It is possible to return to Avignon from Beaucaire by TER with your bikes thanks to the Vélo Serein formula. Access to serene bikes | liO Train SNCF Occitanie in just 15 minutes!
