Alert

Please note, from Saint-Gingolph to Evian, the route is reserved for seasoned cyclists, we strongly recommend that families start the route in Evian-les-Bains or Thonon-les-Bains.
Caution: between Geneva and Seyssel, this section of the ViaRhôna is reserved for experienced and determined cyclists. Its route, topography, and motorized traffic make it not recommended for families or "walking" cycle tourists.
Please note that a temporary route (with signage) is in place between Lyon and Givors, but it may be difficult for families and those uninitiated. Train (TER) travel is strongly recommended between Lyon and Givors.

Description

Travel along this path of civilizations with more than 2 years of history, between the Mediterranean and Europe. Landscapes, towns and villages, vineyards and gastronomy will parade to the rhythm of the territories crossed. Pending the complete completion of ViaRhôna, which will take several years, a provisional route is now offered to the most experienced cyclists. For a gentler practice, prefer the stages already open and accessible to all.
ViaRhôna is 87% finished and the end of its development is scheduled for 2020.
