– reduction of energy consumption: 80% class A bulbs, turning off lights, heating and air conditioning in the studio when you are away;
– instructions for guest rooms: close windows in the morning and open them before bedtime to keep the interior cool in summer (thick walls, shade trees around the farmhouse = air conditioning not necessary)
– preservation of water resources (e.g.: reduction of flow rates at taps and showers, recovery of rainwater for watering and rinsing water for watering plants);
– use of eco-responsible products (e.g.: household detergents);
– waste recovery and the fight against waste (e.g.: no mini-portions for shower gels, shampoo);
– mainly organic products for breakfast;
– minimize plastic waste (water bottles are provided as a precautionary principle, the farmhouse being supplied by a borehole);
– compulsory waste sorting;
– composting of green waste and peelings;
– zero waste: non-compostable food waste for chickens;
– organic vegetable garden and drip irrigation;
– watering of pots and green spaces after 20 p.m. in summer (according to prefectural decree)
– maintenance of a varied biodiversity: great diversity of plants adapted to the Mediterranean climate, shelters for insects and birds;
– information on a bus stop 10 minutes walk from the Mas, serving Avignon city center.
