OWe advise you toutiliser application geovelo, specially on unmarked sections. From the Hautes-Alpes to the Luberon

The first 170-kilometer stage begins in the Hautes-Alpes. This fully signposted section runs along the Durance River through high-mountain landscapes. to Embrun via the citadel of Mont-Dauphin, then on a balcony overlooking Lake Serre-Ponçon before moving towards Gap and SisteronThe southern part of the route along the Durance Canal is easily accessible, unlike the mountain roads which are recommended for experienced cyclists.

From Sisteron to Villeneuve (in the Hautes-Alpes), you will come across a section that is not yet marked. Think about the app geovelo  for this fifty-kilometer connection! From Villeneuve, you will join Cavaillon in the Luberon, by a portion of around a hundred kilometers passing through the route of the V863 “Around the Luberon by bike”.

If you choose the northern option of the route, you will cross Apt and famous villages like Bonnieux, Lacoste… If the southern option is preferred, you will pass through Manosque and the Pays d'Aigues. This route is difficult because it is marked by steep slopes. We recommend that you cover this stage over at least 2 days.
