The Episcène Theatre opened its doors during the 2017 Festival with a 100% Belgian program. Building on this first experience, it is now open all year round.
The Théâtre Episcène, which opened in September 2017, quickly became a key venue for live performance in Avignon. Its first OFF Festival in 2018 marked the beginning of a bold and inventive program, with a focus on Belgian theater. Throughout the year, the Théâtre Episcène invites you to discover a rich and eclectic program: theater, circus, music, shows for young audiences, and solo performances—something to surprise and delight all audiences!
The Episcène Theatre supports all stages of creation, assisting both established artists and emerging voices on the contemporary stage, notably through year-round performances, residencies, and workshops. A true cultural hub, it maintains a special connection between Belgium and France, while also embracing other artistic horizons.
Located in the heart of Avignon, L'Épiscène is a welcoming and accessible venue for everyone, featuring an air-conditioned auditorium with 100 seats.
