Defense of the cultural heritage of the organ; promotion of the restoration and maintenance of instruments; promotion of the construction of new organs; promotion of the construction of a new organ in homage to Olivier Messiaen, as well as any cultural action supported under the name of Messiaen and around the organ in general; promotion of animation and training around the instruments.
Encouraged by public authorities, Organ in Avignon and Organ Homage to Messiaen proceeded to merge by absorbing them into Sacred Music in Avignon.
The new entity is now called Sacred Music and Organ in Avignon. In a new synergy and with a concern for greater efficiency, the association thus offers in a more legible way, during the year outside the Festival period and during the Festival, a significant number of live performance events in exceptional heritage sites.
It thus meets the expectations of the public and the objectives of public authorities: City of Avignon, Urban Community of Grand Avignon, Departmental Council of Vaucluse and South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, by offering all audiences from all social backgrounds in all territories access to the vast repertoire of sacred music as well as the rich heritage of organs, grouped together through the following sections:
The European Heritage Days, the Autumn Organ Festival, the Grand Concerts of Sacred Music, the Concerts at the Saint-Louis Chapel, the Evening Spiritual Music, the Organ Hours, An Organ Route in Vaucluse and the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, the Messiaen Days and the Cycle of Sacred Music during the Avignon Festival.
