The Vox, Avignon's independent cinema since 1922

In the heart of the Place de l'Horloge, a stone's throw from the Palais des Papes, Le Vox has been welcoming moviegoers for over a century. An independent, family-run cinema, it is one of the oldest operating theaters in Avignon and an essential part of the local scene for both residents and visitors.

Two rooms, two atmospheres
Auditorium 1 (171 seats) offers laser projection and 7.1 surround sound for experiencing great films as they were meant to be seen. Auditorium 2 (99 seats), more intimate, is ideal for discoveries and private screenings. Both are air-conditioned and equipped with love seats; Auditorium 1 is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

A program unlike any other
Current blockbusters, arthouse films, and films in their original language with subtitles: Le Vox embraces diversity. Throughout the year, the cinema offers:

previews, often accompanied by meetings with the film crews;
RetroVOX, its series of retrospectives dedicated to great filmmakers and cult films, to be rediscovered on the big screen;
the AFCAE Surprise Favorite, an unreleased Art and Essay film shown as a preview every first Tuesday of the month;
evenings of debates and meetings;
recordings of opera, ballet and Comédie-Française performances, as well as exhibitions of painters on the big screen;
school sessions adapted to the themes studied in class.

Before or after the session
Right next door, at the same address, the trattoria La Sperlongaise extends the evening with generous Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, on the terrace overlooking the Place de l'Horloge.
