Zadig

Théâtre du Chêne Noir 8 bis, rue Sainte Catherine 84000 Avignon
Live Drama
Long ago, on the banks of the Euphrates, in an enchanting city of Babylon, lived a handsome and well-educated young man: Zadig.
With this character, and through a philosophical tale of which he has the secret, Voltaire will lead us into a succession of twists and turns and adventures which, through the encounters, will enlighten us on what we should know about the disloyalty of some, when we take our first steps in adult life.

With biting irony, Voltaire mocks society and the powers that be, all forms of fanaticism, the cowardice of some, and the lack of trust that should be placed in others. Fortunately, it is also about love, and its sometimes happy consequences. Finally, about friendship, the keeper of our secrets.

The chiseled nature of Voltaire's language, as well as the depth of the subject of this tale, convinced me to make a play of it, so that the youth of today, like those of yesterday, can refresh themselves with a thought that will never be enslaved by algorithms, for the moment, in cell phones.

Let's turn them off, raise our heads, and let the show begin!
