A hip-hop adventure set in the heart of the 80s.
Warriors is a hip-hop choreographic adventure conceived by choreographer Njagui Hagbe and directed by Nicolas Le Bricquir. The Warriors confront an oppressive entity, a symbol of a society that erases emotions and crushes individuality. In this narrative, a Resistance fighter traverses a series of worlds reflecting the excesses of our time: overexposure to screens, isolation, and the cult of performance. The goal: to liberate his comrades and restore their humanity.
On stage, eight dancers engage in a funky battle where styles collide and interact: break, locking, house, modern jazz…
The eclectic and politically engaged soundtrack accompanies the narrative with iconic tracks, from Rage Against The Machine to Nina Simone, from Chaka Khan to Prince, which carry a spirit of protest.
Rooted in hip-hop culture, of which the Wanted Posse company has been a reference for 30 years, WARRIORS unleashes a raw energy, fueled by an aesthetic legacy of the 80s. Inspired by West Side Story and The Warriors, the show celebrates the strength of the group while allowing the singularity of each to emerge, and makes dance a language of resistance.
