Visite de l'exposition du Fort Saint-André en famille

Fort Saint-André, 57A Montée du Fort 30400 Villeneuve-lez-Avignon

Guided and / or commented visit

Visit the Fort to understand the religious tensions of the 16th and 18th centuries, through the lives of imprisoned young Protestants and the pacifying role of Catherine de Medici.

Discover the fort during a time when choosing one's religion could change a life forever! From the 16th to the 18th centuries, the Kingdom of France was gripped by profound religious tensions. Through an interactive tour, follow in the footsteps of Suzanne, Jeanne, and Guillaume, three Protestants imprisoned in the fort. Their story will reveal their daily lives and beliefs. Along the way, you will also encounter a major historical figure: Queen Catherine de Medici, who tried by all means to maintain peace in a divided country. With Bénédicte Soumille, curator of the exhibition.
