Visite commentée du vieux village des Angles
Tour des Mascs, boulevard Victor Hugo 30133 Les Angles
A guided walk through narrow streets and along footpaths reveals the history of the buildings, the evolution of the natural environment that inspired so many painters, and the links between the inhabitants and the garrigue. A snack concludes the visit.
This walk is based on the 3 existing discovery trails: the plant trail, the painters' trail and the heritage trail.
The plant trail (1 km round trip), created over 20 years ago, is described as ethnobotanical, as it allows visitors to (re)discover Mediterranean vegetation in its interaction with humans. During the visit, only a portion of the trail is covered. Twenty information panels describe the plant species and its uses by humans.
The Painters' Trail, also created over 20 years ago, allows you to follow in the footsteps of the painters who set up their easels in the village's narrow streets from the late 19th to the early 20th century. This trail is marked by 12 reproductions of these painters' works on lava stone plaques.
The built heritage trail, inaugurated in 2018, invites you to discover the centuries-old history of the old village through 10 emblematic monuments. For each monument, a panel explains its history while also recounting the creation and evolution of the village and its community over the centuries.
Your guides are not professional tour guides, but volunteers from the association Les Amis du Vieux Village des Angles – AVVA. Residents of the village, these volunteers have taken a particular interest in it and have researched its natural and cultural environment to share some insights and inspire you to return…
