Vincent Dedienne has singer friends. These singers write songs. Since they are friends, they wrote songs for him. And since Vincent is their friend—and even though he isn't a singer—Vincent sings these songs in concert.
“While I was performing my one-man show Un soir de gala, I had the idea of asking artists I like to each choose a sketch or a moment from the show and turn it into a song. To write the musical version, the melancholic side of each of my characters.
So that's it, Un lendemain soir de gala: these are songs offered by Alex Beaupain, Jeanne Cherhal, Vincent Delerm, Albin de la Simone etc… and which I offer to you in turn.
The show could have been called Laughter and Songs, but it was already taken.”
