Un compagnonnage artistique. Jean Angladon et Paulette Martin

Musée Angladon 5 rue Laboureur 84000 Avignon

Exhibition

The Angladon Museum pays tribute to its founders, Avignon artists and collectors, heirs to the Jacques Doucet collection. 170 of their works are exhibited in a display evoking the atmosphere of their studio.

We owe them the Museum that bears their name, but who were Jean Angladon and Paulette Martin? They were husband and wife, artists and collectors, heirs to the collection of paintings and art objects of their great-uncle Jacques Doucet.
Thanks to them, these treasures, including masterpieces by Sisley, Van Gogh, Modigliani, Cézanne, Degas, Manet, and Picasso, can now be admired in Avignon.
Painters and engravers, they led an extraordinary artistic partnership, each listening to the other, sometimes drawing inspiration from the same motifs while each expressing a unique style and personality.
The Angladon Museum pays tribute to them through this exhibition.
