Solah – la mayola imaginaire
Théâtre du Chien qui Fume 75, rue des Teinturiers 84000 Avignon
Solah is a duo filled with dreams, myths and femininity.
Dédette Saint-Pierre and Patricia Philippe, authors, composers and performers, share vocal performances through their artistic experiences. They draw you into a refined universe enhanced by acoustic, eclectic and poetic sounds, coming from their musical influences (Reunion, India, Africa, Madagascar…).
A partnership of two sisters who reunite after going solo. The two artists' visions collide and merge harmoniously. Scenes from life are transcribed in a light and captivating way into inspired creations. The art of speaking and laughing at oneself without taboos, women fully rediscover their place in a culture where, very often, they find themselves in the background.
In this identity where maloya is no longer just a man's business.
