Pourparlers

So they rehearse, again, the ideal gesture, the perfect sequence. One of them has just received a letter. She's been summoned to serve on a jury. So she keeps wondering if she'll make it. And they rehearse. Because time is ticking, and in an hour, the theater will open its doors to an audience eager to see their show. For about an hour, at least, they know where they're going, but what will happen after that? They repeat: "Damn it," because before performing, you say "Damn it." That's the tradition. They prefer to say, "It'll be alright" than "Damn it." So they rehearse. And it will be alright, won't it?
