Pas sans l’obéissance
Théâtre des Halles Rue du Roi René 84000 Avignon
A collective writing project that borrows its title from the thesis published by Anouk Darne-Tanguille's aunt.
This is the starting point. The point of friction. When order no longer makes sense, what do we choose to obey?
Between striking docks and television studios, the show investigates these pivotal moments. 1951, the Henri Martin affair: dockworkers refuse to participate in the Indochina War. 1962, at Yale University, Connecticut, Professor Milgram dissects our capacity to obey. 2009, amidst heightened security measures and the triumph of media power, this same experiment resurfaces in the form of a television game show – while a group of young people question the legacy of these stories that precede them.
