Michael Kenna « Paysages de Corée du Sud »

Galerie Rousset 56 rue Joseph Vernet 84000 Avignon

Exhibition

Galerie Rousset presents the exhibition “Landscapes of South Korea”, bringing together a collection of black and white silver gelatin prints by internationally renowned photographer Michael Kenna.

A major figure in contemporary photography, Michael Kenna offers a sensitive and harmonious interpretation of the Korean landscape, based on subtlety, slowness, and a precise gaze. His photographs explore territories at the edge of visibility—barely perceptible horizons, isolated trees, discreet architecture, mists, and diffused light—where geographical space borders on the imaginary, even the supernatural. This approach resonates particularly strongly in South Korea, where the relationship between nature, spirituality, and silence is deeply rooted.
Through this event, the Rousset Gallery will invite visitors to appreciate black and white photography as a work of art, but more broadly to engage in a dialogue between humans and nature.
