Les Samedis de la Maison Jean Vilar – Danser à travers le temps, autour de L'Annonciation d'Angelin Preljocaj

The Jean Vilar Association and the National Library of France offer a regular series of meetings related to the themes pursued by the Maison Jean Vilar since its creation, as well as current events in the performing arts.
These Saturdays at the Maison Jean Vilar take the form of round tables, interviews, or conferences, sometimes extended or accompanied by screenings of films or documentaries related to the chosen theme. These events are also an opportunity to promote the funds and collections preserved at the Maison Jean Vilar.

Dancer and choreographer, director of Ballet Preljocaj, National Choreographic Center in Aix-en-Provence, Angelin Preljocaj has been invited to present his creations at seven editions of the Avignon Festival. Created in 1995, Annunciation is one of his emblematic pieces.
Filmed by Angelin Preljocaj in 2003, this pas de deux for two dancers has since been regularly revived and passed on to new performers. Today, it is part of the Ballet Preljocaj's repertoire, notably with Clara Freschel in the role of the Angel. A dancer with the Ballet Preljocaj for about ten years, Clara Freschel will share her journey as a performer and her experience in teaching dance with us.
