Les Rencontres d'Aubergine
Divers lieux dans le centre-ville 30400 Villeneuve-lez-Avignon
Join us for the 8th edition of the Aubergine Encounters, a contemporary art festival. 22 venues, 22 artists, including guest artist Flore Benguigui, and a common theme: "Travel." "Nomadic Opening" Saturday, April 4th at 16 pm.
The featured artist for this 8th edition is Flore Benguigui, singer, songwriter, and musician, who was once based in Avignon. After nine years with the group L'Impératrice, she returns to jazz, which she never truly left, and to her friends from the region, "The Sensible Notes."
This is her very first exhibition, and it's taking place here, at our festival, in Villeneuve lez Avignon, specifically in the ambulatory of the Chartreuse with a series of photographs.
After Albin de la Simone, the great Sophie, Clou, Bertrand Belin, Barbara Carlotti, she will be our "artist where you least expect her" for the 8th edition. And as tradition dictates, she will close the event with music.
Also noteworthy is the presence of Avignon artists such as Pablito Zago, who needs no introduction, or the highly regarded painter Vincent Alran, who has been living in Paris for many years.
The public is invited to "travel" throughout the historic center, even on the walls. We are delighted to welcome street artist Agrume and his poetic paintings this year.
With such a theme, it is a true traveler, Axel Champloy, who will send us watercolors live from his adventure "going to Japan without taking a plane".
