Les mercredis "mystères de l’archéologie" au musée Lapidaire

You are invited to discover, through the work of an archaeologist, the origin of some of the collections in the Lapidary Museum and to learn about this fascinating profession.
How does an archaeologist work, what are their tools? Their gestures? Their techniques, research and excavation methods? To put the visits into practice, there's nothing like following them up with a workshop, to experiment and create.
From 14h30 to 16h:
– Wednesday, March 11: in the workshop, come and create a decorative clay oil lamp to take home, one of the objects often found during archaeological digs.

– Wednesday, April 29: Budding ceramologist, your mission, should you choose to accept it…to conduct an investigation in the role of an archaeologist specializing in ancient ceramics, to solve riddles, to study, draw and reconstruct pottery to better understand its functions and uses.

– Wednesday, June 10: Budding carpologist, conduct an investigation in the shoes of an archaeologist specializing in seeds, and discover what simple charred remains tell us about the flora, climate and diet of past societies.
