Les Hivernales, festival de danse – 49e édition

The unmissable event in the heart of winter!

Founded in 1979, the Hivernales festival has become a key event for contemporary dance in France. From the very first edition, Amélie Grand, the festival's founder, adopted a specific approach: guest artists give workshops, workshops for all levels, or classes reserved for professionals during the day and perform their shows in the evening. The event thus becomes a conduit between amateurs and professionals.

As part of its annual programming, Les Hivernales, one of whose goals is to be a mirror of the vitality of contemporary dance, has invited a number of choreographers who have proposed creations that offer a wide range of choreographic art: Boris Charmatz, Philippe Découflé, Angelin Preljocaj, Maguy Marin, etc.

All the richness of contemporary dance is presented in Avignon and the surrounding area.

The next edition will take place from February 7 to 27, 2027.

For this 49th edition, you will be able to (re)discover the choreographers: Christian and François Ben Aïm, Emanuel Gat, Marina Gomes, Rebecca Journo, Anne le Batard and Jean-Antoine Bigot, Christian Rizzo, Jules Sadoughi, Marcella Santander, Arno Schuitemaker, Brigitte Seth and Roser Montlló Guberna, Ambra Senatore, Ana Perez, Alexander Vantournhout, Sati Veyrunes…

A public presentation of the program will take place on Tuesday, December 15th at 19 p.m. Free with reservation
