Projection on a large screen
The Phantom of the Opera is a 1925 American film directed by Rupert Julian, based on the novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux. It is part of the Universal Monsters series. Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, a half-mad being rejected by society, lives in the abandoned basement of the Opéra Garnier in Paris. In love with one of the singers named Christine Daaé, he schemes to get her the lead role, before demanding her love in return. But she, discovering the profound ugliness of the one called the Phantom of the Opera, tries by all means to escape his influence, with the help of her suitor. As was the practice at the time, the film will be accompanied musically by improvisations.
