Daniel Balavoine, an iconic and emblematic artist of French song, with his committed lyrics, marked the 70s and 80s with unforgettable titles like L'Aziza, Le Chanteur, Tous les cris, les SOS and Mon fils, ma bataille.
Revealed to the general public thanks to Michel Berger, who offered him the role of Johnny Rockfort in the musical Starmania, he sported a rock-punk look for the occasion and sang to perfection two songs that would make him famous: Quand on arrive en ville and SOS d'un terrien en détresse.
The public then discovered an exceptional artist, who would inspire an entire generation through his unique style, which blended rock, variety and pop influences.
Daniel Balavoine, also a fervent defender of the causes close to his heart (notably education and the fight against poverty), passionately addressed and defended social and humanitarian issues during his career, which was tragically interrupted in 1986 in a helicopter crash.
