La Promesse de l’Aube

Leaving Wilno (in Poland, now Vilnius, in Lithuania) where her son was born and settling in Nice, she raised her child alone and, driven by unconditional love, sacrificed her life so that he would become one of the greatest French writers, a war hero decorated with the Croix de la Libération, and finally a diplomat in the service of France.
Portrayed by Tigran Mekhitarian, Romain Gary draws the audience into his imagination, recreating his memories and experiencing them in the present. Violin and piano accompany this narrative, punctuated by poetic, humorous, moving, and tender moments, culminating in an unexpected finale.
