La Fille du régiment

The Daughter of the Regiment is one of the most sparkling operas in the repertoire. Behind its virtuoso arias and joyful energy, Donizetti tells the story of Marie, a young girl raised by a regiment of soldiers. When her past resurfaces, she finds herself confronted with a world very different from her own: that of an aristocracy with strict rules and well-established codes.

This participatory version offers a playful and inventive rediscovery of the work, inspired by children's imaginations. Their ability to blend worlds and transform everyday objects enriches the staging. The stage space thus becomes a playground where elements metamorphose, scales are distorted, and visual surprises play an integral part in the narrative.

At the heart of the story, the encounter between opposing worlds gives rise to both comedy and emotion. Between the warm-hearted regiment that raised Marie and the more rigid world of the nobility, the young heroine must find her place and understand what truly constitutes her family.

Between humor, tenderness and collective adventure, La Fille du régiment is, here, an invitation to discover opera differently: as a moment of play, imagination and encounter between the stage and the public.
