A welcoming land for jazz, France has seen the development of a rich scene of personalities who, influenced by their American role models, have risen to the highest level. This is evidenced by several landmark recordings of French jazz from the 60s. These recordings feature artists such as Claude Bolling, Guy Lafitte, André Persiany, Pierre Michelot, Barney Wilen, André Hodeir, Martial Solal, Roger Guerin, Michel Legrand, Michel Portal, and many others, all waiting to be discovered.
