Hamlet – Cronache dall’Interzona
Théâtre du Balcon 38, rue Guillaume Puy 84000 Avignon
Hamlet's psychedelic journey into William Burroughs' Interzone.
Shakespeare, the Beat Generation, psychoanalysis and techno-capitalism meet in a psychedelic dramaturgy, where identity, desire, guilt and freedom confront the disorder of our time.
A journey, a mental exploration, a drift through an impossible place: the Interzone. A borderless limbo, a creature of William Burroughs' visionary chaos, where time disintegrates and spaces contort under the weight of unspoken impulses. Hamlet is a traveler, a nomad of thought, a restless spirit seeking answers in a world where logic has collapsed. His torments merge with the pulse of an era that tastes of decay, a mental theater, a map of inner conflicts between desire and guilt, power and disillusionment. In the Interzone, Hamlet confronts Gertrude, Ophelia, Claudius, Lacan, and Burroughs himself, a demiurgic figure and guide, who challenges him to rewrite his own destiny through Lacanian insights and a ritual murder.
A show in Italian with French surtitles.
