An unmissable event of the summer, it is one of the biggest performing arts festivals in the world! Theatre, dance, music, circus… the Off festival offers more than 1,500 shows over 3 weeks in July.
60 YEARS OF HISTORY
A space for spontaneous creation born in 1966 around the Avignon Festival, known as In, the Avignon Off Festival is today one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world.
Every July, Avignon is transformed into a festival city by thousands of artists who take over the streets and more than a hundred theaters throughout the city. A unique model built around the independence of the participating organizations, the Avignon Off Festival welcomes the full richness and diversity of national and international artistic creation.
To support the event, its organization, its stakeholders and its evolution, the Avignon Festival & Companies (AF&C) association was created in 2006 at the initiative of companies and theaters.
Throughout the year, AF&C develops initiatives to support creation, assist artistic teams, work on audience development and accessibility for all to the festival.
The subscription card
It offers a minimum 30% discount on shows, as well as numerous benefits with partner companies. It pays for itself after purchasing tickets for just 3 shows!
