Exposition Marc Bloch : vie, combats, héritages
Fort Saint-André, Montée du Fort 30400 Villeneuve-lez-Avignon
Marc Bloch, historian and resistance fighter, was inducted into the Panthéon this year. The Centre des monuments nationaux celebrates the founder of contemporary history through this exhibition, designed in collaboration with the Association of History and Geography Teachers.
Marc Bloch (1886-1944), a major figure in 20th-century French historian, profoundly influenced the way historians work today. He demonstrated that history must be written in conjunction with the social sciences, that it allows us to understand the present, to build bridges between peoples, and that scientific rigor is a bulwark against political manipulation.
