Exposition de peinture et sculptures «Rencontre»
Chapelle Saint-Vérédème 30131 Pujaut
The St-Vérédème Culture and Heritage Association invites you to discover the works of two artists: the paintings of Béatrice Pouzol and the sculptures of Alain Paul. Opening reception Saturday, May 16th at 18 pm.
Beatrice Pouzol
Passionate about drawing and painting since childhood, I have only dedicated myself to painting for the past fifteen years or so. It was through joining a contemporary art association and meeting a painter that I was able to realize my passion. Deeply sensitive to the beauty of nature, I draw my inspiration from my own photographs, which always serve as the starting point for my work, even if this evolves along the way.
I like to create compositions where different subjects are mixed together, also organizing them on several successive planes; I bring a story to my works.
Colour plays an essential role in my artistic approach, as do contrasts, light, and chromatic intensity, which allow me to translate the emotions and atmosphere I wish to convey.
Alain Paul
I create from an encounter: a material, a detail, an object, an emotional state. The urge to create arises, raw and instinctive, without preconceptions or references. Each work is a liberation, a contemplative pleasure, a brief eternity of happiness. Today, I explore all mediums (wood, glass, steel, found objects) and all techniques (abstract paintings on wood, steel, glass, three-dimensional forms, sculptures) to breathe new life into matter and create works that engage with space, both indoors and outdoors.
