For the past three years, the Transversal theatre has hosted the Mediterranean delegation of the Associated Theatre Writers (EAT Méditerranée) for their Eclore project.
Based on a publicly disseminated call for texts, the delegation proposes to emerging playwrights from the Mediterranean region, of all ages, not yet members of the EAT, to send a pre-text, i.e., the beginning of an unpublished play, of about twenty minutes, based on a writing proposal.
Following a meeting and vote by a committee of performing arts professionals, two texts were selected and offered for reading at the Transversal theatre.
The vocal and spatial direction is entrusted to a group of students from the Regional Conservatory of Grand Avignon, led by Stephen Pisani. The authors are invited by the delegation to share this moment and meet the public. This is an opportunity to connect authors from cultural institutions and artistic teams.
This same writing prompt is being offered for another call for submissions to all authors of EAT Méditerranée. A selection will also be made, culminating in an afternoon of readings of four other play beginnings, on Saturday, March 7th at 17 pm at the Théâtre du Chien qui fume. You will therefore witness the birth of a text and perhaps even the birth of a playwright!
Free access.
