Dans l’ombre de Jorge Donn

"Jorge Donn is really my uncle. I learned of his death on television, on the 1 p.m. news on December 13, 1992. I was devastated. Donn has always been a kind of mentor to me. We drew inspiration from my personal life and what I felt being the nephew of someone like him to create the character of Daniel and his story."
This play is a tribute to Jorge Donn, but it also deals with the difficulty of being a "son of." When our artistic or other aspirations are stifled by the charisma of our elders, it can become painful and stifling.
Self-realization is also at the heart of this dramatic and fantastical comedy. Indeed, who hasn't dreamed of following their desire for personal fulfillment? Who hasn't wanted to pursue at all costs the path they forged as children, the goal they wanted to reach without compromise?
Will Daniel's desire to reconnect with himself and the intensive work Anna will put in place to "awaken" him be enough for Daniel to be reborn and accept his destiny?
