Concert tango «La Luz»
La chapelle de Truel, 2289 chemin de Truel 30150 Roquemaure
"La Luz" (The Light) is a secular mass that draws its musical colors from tango. Seven musicians, a solo baritone, and a choir come together to perform this creation: come and listen to the dialogue between bandoneon, string quartet, and voice.
"La Luz" (The Light) is a secular mass, written by the Argentinian-born composer Osvaldo Lassalle. Unconventional in style, this "misa" draws its musical colors from the tango, which nourishes the imagination of its creator.
Conceived on the basis of a tango trio formation: bandoneon, piano and double bass, then string quartet and mixed choir and solo baritone, "La Luz" involves seven musicians, a solo baritone and a choir.
Musically, the bandoneon brings its distinctive character. It engages in a dialogue with the strings in the style of a classical quartet. The soloist's entrance gives meaning to the tango, introducing us, through dance, to such difficult subjects. The choir, for its part, lends weight to the message.
