A partner of the Avignon Festival since 1967 at the request of Jean Vilar, the association Musique Sacrée et Orgue en Avignon (Sacred Music and Organ in Avignon) presents a series of organ and sacred music concerts aimed at showcasing the historical instruments of Avignon and its surrounding region. This partnership has continued under the direction of Bernard Faivre d'Arcier, Hortense Archambault and Vincent Baudrier, Olivier Py, and now the new director of the Avignon Festival, Tiago Rodrigues.

This is a true festival of sacred music, original in its style and concept, reflecting the vision of Jean Vilar: openness and dialogue, research, welcoming young artists, and reaching out to a wider audience. The programmed concerts introduce a broad public to the variety of venues and the beauty of the historical heritage that houses these instruments.

In addition to showcasing the heritage of historic organs in Avignon and the surrounding region in each concert by renowned international organists, Georges Lartigau, Nicolo Sari, David Hirst, Laurent Beyhurst, the 2026 program will particularly highlight the voice.
