Café des sciences – L’obésité, un gros problème de santé… et de société
Café-librairie Youpi ! 26 avenue Saint-Ruf 84000 Avignon
Obesity is a disease with multiple causes and numerous complications. Due to their prevalence, overweight and obesity constitute a major public health issue.
Following on from World Obesity Day on March 4, 2026, this science café aims to change perceptions and combat certain misconceptions.
A focus will be placed on adapted physical activity (APA), an essential approach in the management of obesity, particularly through the "Kilometer Against Obesity" connected challenge. Regular APA practice, even without associated weight loss, has recognized beneficial effects on health, and not only for overweight individuals.
