Atelier Initiation au tango argentin

Have you always wanted to dance the Argentine tango but never dared to take the first step? Do you want to take the time to reconnect with your body, become aware of your sensations, and learn how to transmit them to others?
As part of their creative residencies at the Golovine Theatre, choreographer Ariane Liautaud and Karim El Toukhi invite you to take part in an Argentine tango initiation in order to share their choreographic world with you.
During a 1.5-hour workshop, they will offer you an introduction to this dance based on listening as it is practiced in ballrooms around the world by people of all ages. You will discover the basics, the codes as well as the vocabulary for improvisation. Emphasis will be placed on connection, working on walking, and acquiring basic figures to allow you to take your first steps on the dance floor.
This initiation is designed to reach out to non-dancers and future students who have not yet dared to step through the door of traditional classes. It is open to anyone who would like to start tango, but also to those who are thinking of starting to learn again.
What outfit should I bring?
It is not necessary to bring a partner. Come dressed as you are, no pointy or grippy shoes, but comfortable like sneakers! Enjoy a unique immersion in Argentine culture and Argentine tango as it is practiced in Buenos Aires. Workshop accessible to all ages and levels!
