Julien Andujar
Julien Andujar began performing at 15 with the traveling troupe EVASION, based in Perpignan, featuring girls, feathers, and a quick-change artist. Simultaneously, he studied theater at his high school in Narbonne and considered pursuing a career in this discipline. At 20, he met Daniel Larrieu, Odile Duboc, and Hervé Robbe, who were training at COLINE. There, he realized there was something more poetic, more organic, more sophisticated within his small, wiry body. After two years focused on the repertoire of contemporary French dance, he interned at the CDC (Centre de Danse de Toulouse), which at the time specialized in developing dancers. It was at this point that he broadened his horizons beyond performance to encompass choreographic creation in its widest sense. Following his training, he worked with Mié Coquempot, Hervé Robbe, Coraline Lamaison, Mylène Benoît, Michel Kelemenis, Yuval Rozman, and Arthur Perole. As a writer, he explores various creative formats, whether performative, theatrical, or cinematic: PAPPESKE (2012 film), TAKASHI (2017 play), KROMOS (2018 play) co-written with Audrey Bodiguel, LET IT GO (2020 music video), and then TETSUO, his fictional character, a bit of a drag queen. In 2022, he created TATIANA, a play paying tribute to his older sister who disappeared in 1995 in Perpignan without a trace. Today, he is creating his own company, BIBOTCH, and continuing to write his family saga with MARC, a musical tragedy about the complex relationship he has with his deceased brother.
