A major figure in the double bass scene in Norway, Arild Anderson was able to establish himself more broadly on the European scene from the 70s onwards.
He appears as a versatile bassist who knows how to skillfully combine the sounds of his instrument with innovative electronic effects.
In his compositions, he evokes jazz figures like Ornette Coleman and Paul Simon. Landloper, the artist's latest solo work, is a return to the essence of jazz and improvisation, while still playing with electronics.
From this approach Arild Andersen creates poetic pieces that hint at notes of Norwegian folk music.
